Ogni anno pubblica la Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, guida in cui seleziona le migliori bottiglie del prezioso distillato redigendo una classifica sempre molto attesa da appassionati e professionisti del settore.

Due anni fa, ha nominato Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 come il suo Whisky Mondiale dell’anno, mentre lo scorso anno ha visto questo onore andare in Canada, con Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye che prende il top gong.
E adesso è stato annunciato il vincitore del 2017. Il miglior whisky di Jim Murray al mondo è: The Rye di Booker 13 anni.
Jim lo ha descritto come avere un naso “drenante e triste” con una finitura di “incredibile profondità”, aggiungendo che è un “esempio stupendo di una meravigliosa segale che mostra esattamente quale genio in termini di whisky in realtà significa”, puntando 97.5 / 100 punti
L’altra grande notizia della Bibbia del Whiskey del 2017 è che un whisky scozzese ha reso Jim’s World Whisky of the Year la lista più breve per la prima volta dal 2014. Il secondo è Glen Grant 18 anni – ecco i primi tre:
